ATS compliant resume templates that survive the parser

A template is only ATS compliant if the software can rebuild your career from it. Every KlarCV layout is validated against the parse simulation, so what you see in the preview is what an applicant tracking system extracts.

The template opens straight in your workspace — even if you have never saved it before.

What makes a template ATS compliant

Compliance is a set of concrete structural rules, not a style label.

  • Single reading order — no side columns that interleave when linearised
  • Standard section headings such as Experience, Education and Skills
  • Text as text: no logos, icons or charts carrying information
  • Consistent date format on every entry
  • Contact details in the body, never only in a header or footer

Designed, not plain

Compliance does not mean an unformatted wall of text. The templates use typographic hierarchy, restrained accent colour and generous white space to stay readable for the human who opens the file after the parser passes it on.

Switch layouts without redoing your content

Content and design are separate. Pick a different template at any point and your entries, dates and skills move across untouched — useful when one application wants a conservative look and the next a modern one.

Frequently asked questions

Are two-column resume templates ATS safe?
Often not. Many parsers linearise the page and mix the columns. If you use one, run the parse check and confirm every section still reads in order.
Should an ATS resume include a photo?
In Germany, Austria and Switzerland a photo is still common; in the US and UK leave it out. The photo never carries text, so it does not affect parsing either way.
Are the templates free?
A set of templates is free and exports with a watermark. A pass unlocks the premium layouts and watermark-free PDFs.
